Das Projekt „Europäische Notenspuren. Europa in Leipzig – Von Leipzig nach Europa“ (2018-2020) stellte die verbindende Kraft der Musik in Europa in den Mittelpunkt durch einen wechselseitigen künstlerischen Austausch mit den Partnerländern Litauen (Nationalkomponist Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis) und Norwegen (Nationalkomponist Edvard Grieg) mit Teilnehmer*innen aus Deutschland (Clara Schumann). Neue Interessenten für das durch Leipzig repräsentierte europäische Kulturerbe wurden gewonnen. Zweites Kennzeichen des Projektes war die aktive Mitwirkung von Bürgerinnen und Bürgern der beteiligten Länder als Multiplikatoren des gemeinsamen Kulturerbes. Das Folgeprojekt “Europäische Notenspuren. Bach und die Kunst der Bewegung” (2022-2024) mit Partnern aus Frankreich und Italien dreht sich um Musik, Tanz und Ideentransfer zur Zeit J. S. Bachs und deren Umsetzung in zeitgenössische Formen wie Poetry Slam oder HipHop.

Leipzig Music Trail Association – European Music Trails
The project ‘European Music Trails: Europe in Leipzig – from Leipzig to Europe’ focuses on the role of music as a unifying power throughout the history of Europe, represented by three composers who lived or studied in Leipzig: Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, Edvard Grieg and Clara Schumann.
‘European Musical Trails’ realises an exchange of artists between Lithuania, Norway and Germany and aims to develop interest in European cultural heritage. The project calls for active participation of citizens from these countries to act as multipliers of the cultural heritage.
Leipzig Music Trail (Notenspur Leipzig e.V.), a citizen’s association, is breaking new ground with the project ‘European Musical Trails’ in culture of memory, cultural mediation and citizen participation.
