Seit 2007 bietet die Europäische Orgelakademie an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig (HMT) alle zwei Jahre hochkarätige Konzerte, Meisterkurse und Vorträge unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Prof. Stefan Engels (bis 2015) und Prof. Martin Schmeding (seit 2017).

Dabei kommen nicht nur die beiden hochwertigen Instrumente der HMT selbst zum Einsatz – der Unterricht findet auch an den großen Orgeln Leipzigs in der Thomas- oder der Michaeliskirche sowie im Umland, beispielsweise an den Silbermann-Orgeln in Rötha, der Vleugels-Orgel in der Schlosskirche Chemnitz oder der historischen Richter-Orgel im Pomßen statt.  Öffentliche Konzerte und Vorträge der international anerkannten Dozenten aus Europa und den USA runden die Akademie ab.

Die nächste Europäische Orgelakademie Leipzig findet vom 26.07.-10.08.2025 statt.

Since 2007, the European Organ Academy at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig („HMT“) offers excellent concerts, master classes and lectures under the artistic direction of Prof. Stefan Engels (until 2015) and Prof. Martin Schmeding (since 2017). Every two years students do not only learn and play at the two first-class instruments of the HMT – lessons are also held at the great Leipzig organs of St. Thomas’s or St. Micheal’s, furthermore in the Leipzig region, e. g. at the organs of Silbermann in Rötha and Freiberg or the historic Richter organ in Pomssen. Public concerts and lectures of internationally acclaimed teachers from Europe and the United States of America complete the Academy.

The next European Organ Academy will run from 26 July to 10 August 2025.
